Premium, Eco-friendly toothbrush
A toothbrush made to last for a lifetime featuring a high quality reusable body and disposable brush heads that reduce the overall plastic waste of about 87% compared to traditional toothbrushes.
Consumerism and the diffusion of disposable plastic products have maximised our comfort and convenience to the detriment of the environment. Toothbrushes are a particularly tricky category as they are hardly recyclable, being made of a combination of different types of plastics like PP/PE, TPE and nylon. It is estimated that the average person uses 4 to 5 toothbrushes a year that when disposed, most likely end up in landfills.
To tackle this problem, I set to design 2°C, a premium yet eco-friendly toothbrush made to last for a lifetime.
Disposable toothbrushes pose a serious environmental problem as they are hardly recyclable, being made of a combination of different types of plastics.
2°C toothbrush features a premium reusable body made to last for a lifetime.
The disposable brush heads reduce the overall plastic waste of 87% compared to traditional toothbrushes.
The brush head can be easily replaced when needed, by snapping it in and out the toothbrush body
The brush heads come in an eco-friendly packaging made of carton pulp and paper. A minimum amount of glue is needed to bond the two elements.
When not in use the toothbrush snaps magnetically to a smart base for a minimum footprint on the bathroom counter.
The smart base integrates Low energy bluetooth and is able to track brushing time and frequency, as well as estimating when the brush heads should be replaced for an optimal brushing effectiveness.
The base is powered by a coin cell battery that will last for a few years before needing to be replaced.
The toothbrushes come in a variety of colours: Gray, Charcoal, Coral and Forest.
